Harp Notes with Alison Vardy
Hello Everyone
Stephen Vardy writing this time. Just
to let you know that BC Harpists
have their very own BCHarpsOnline Email List. I have
initiated a drive to
raise the membership of this list ( it's free! ) as
I find these forums a valuable
adjunct for the harping aficionado. Whether it is the
next workshop,
advertising a harp, finding a local teacher or asking
about the merits
of a particular string. It's all there as I find listers
are a wealth of otherwise
hidden knowledge.
I have enclosed an open letter from the
BCHarpsOnline webmistress, Rhonda
Matthews. Please have a read as it also signals the
future for the BC Harps
Newsletter mail-out compiled by Lori Pappajohn.
And finally, Alison is negotiating her
Spring and summer schedule this month
and you can expect some news about this next month in
her next email
newsletter. You can join (or leave) our email contact
list if you wish here:
https://www.alisonvardy.com/alison-vardy/email-list.htm
Please pass-on this Harp Notes Newsletter
to anyone that you
may believe is interested.
Thanks for your interest
Best Wishes
Stephen Vardy

An Open Letter
Since BCHarps Newsletter-- the snailmail
version-- is going through a
temporary transition while they find a new newsletter
producer/publishing
person......if you wish to invite folks to come onboard
here at BC Harps
Online as a way to keep in touch, please FORWARD this
message to those you
know in the BC Harp-world.
And-- If you know of someone computer
literate who loves to produce
newsletters- please tell them to contact LORI PAPPAJOHN,
editor of BCHarps
Newsletter at [email protected] or call her 604.521.7194
BC Harps Newsletter is a vital means
of keeping harpists who do not have
computers in touch & it is also wonderful to read
it and hold the newsletter
in your hands as well as show it to interested others,
to read.
To INVITE BC-harp-related friends/manufacturers,
teachers, etc
to the BCHarpsOnline email list --
1. Go to
http://www.Yahoogroups.com and register (you do
not have to fill
out your age and other info. Try to use the minimum
of info)
2. Then when you have joined Yahoogroups.com as a member
-- under 'search
groups' ....enter in BCHarpsOnline. You'll find us that
way. When you get
to that webpage, on the top right corner it says: Join
group. Click on that
and you're in.
I need to note that anyone caught spamming this list
with unwanted
emails of a vulgar, pornographic, or illicit/unwanted
nature will be
immediately banned from the list. Postings must be harp-related
and related
to British Columbia, unless of a general teaching/pedagogy
type nature. As
well, harps-for-sale postings in the Pacific Northwest
and across Canada are
of course welcome. (People are always looking for harps!)
I review list members and activity (where emails are
coming from)
regularly and as webmistress it is my task to make sure
we are all
comfortable online with this BC Harp list.
No one enjoys receiving unwanted email.
If you have a problem email sent to
you and feel it originates from this list, please write
to me directly and
we'll sort it out.
Happy harping!
Sincerely,
Rev. Rhonda Matthews, B.Music, DipTh
Webmistress
