Harp Notes with Alison Vardy
Hello Everyone
It is the top of the summer and it has
been good for the Vardy's. There
were a few days at some of my outdoor wedding gigs when
I thought
the glue in my harps would start to melt or slip but
they have
survived well.
The first important news is that I am
now a Victoria BC harpist having
decided to leave Sidney and set-up a new home and studio
near the
Royal Jubilee Hospital all in a 36 day period! My new

I am having a busy summer as an On-Board
Entertainer with BC Ferries.
I play standing up with my Paraguayan harp and move
through various
playing locations on the Spirit Class ferries. If you
are planning on
crossing the ditch between now and Labour Day check
my sailing

If you are wanting an outing in Victoria
this weekend, I will be playing at
the Horticulture Centre of the Pacific off West Saanich
Road on
Sunday, August 15 from 11am to mid afternoon. Over 30
selected painters,
sculptors and potters will be demonstrating their artistry
and selling their
artwork at this popular annual fundraiser. Stroll through
the gardens to the
strains of flute or harp while enjoying the works of
art on display. There
will also be a Japanese harp, the Koto, performing.
