|Prelude

Music while friends and family are arriving and being seated. It's nice to have a broad selection here for all tastes - and there may be some special musical selections you request for certain individuals you wish to acknowledge.

|Processional

The Bride often chooses the music she wishes accompany her "down the aisle". Some clients choose two musical selections: one for the Bridal Party (Bridesmaids) and a different one for the Bride herself.

|Signing of the Register

The legal requirement to becoming married. Guests appreciate having pleasant music to listen to as they wait for the formalities to be completed and for the Bridal Couple to be announced as husband and wife

|Recessional

Celebratory music as the now married couple walk back down the aisle and receive the congratulations of family and guests at the close of the service. This musical selection can also be made by the client, or Alison will make a suitable choice on your behalf.

|Ceremony Duration

Most wedding services last about an hour from the beginning of the Prelude to the end of the Recessional. Some may be longer for certain religions or if other dedicatory items (candle-lighting, readings etc.) are included.

|Choosing Wedding Ceremony and Reception Music

Music is an often forgotten part of the wedding planning

process, almost every Bridal Couple remembers to book

the photographer early, but unless they are using a bridal

consultant or planner, they often forget about the wedding

music until the last moment. Music at the ceremony and

especially during the early part of the reception will create

a delightful and memorable ambience at any wedding.

The harp offers a number of advantages over a string

quartet or other instruments like the piano or organ for

entertainment. Most notably an accessible repertoire, a

small space requirement, portability and an improved

audibility when amplified well. The solo harpist also

makes an excellent lead up entertainer to a band at the

reception.

Alison's harp performances provide a gorgeous backdrop and a beautiful sound for all to hear. She has been blessed with performing at over three hundred weddings in New Zealand and Canada. She has a huge, diverse repertoire with over 25 hours of music memorised and available for your ceremony and reception. She has specialist harps for different functions - a large warm Celtic harp for the church and a brighter Paraguayan harp for the dinner afterwards.
