in the Wild
I have added this location to my preferred wedding/eloping
locations simply for the stunning scenery, the wonderful
access to the wildlife and amazing natural surroundings
literally at our doorstep close to Victoria British
Columbia. Port
Renfrew is 115km / 70 miles north of Greater Victoria
on the outer West Coast of Vancouver Island. It is accessable
along a rustic two lane paved Highway 14 - half of which
is in forest and wilderness. Port Renfrew is becoming
a rural centre for outdoors activities including hiking,
kayaking and bird watching.

Close to Botanical
Beach is the newly rebuilt Port
Renfrew Hotel. The old
Port Renfew Hotel burnt down in 2003 and since been
replaced with a sumptious modern facility well suited
for handling overnight wedding parties of 30 or more
with newly-appointed, luxurious, waterside log cabins complimented by a fine dining restaurant, upstairs wedding
room and a cosy intimate bar.
The Port Renfrew Hotel
is simply an ideal location to elope or have a small
intimate wedding. Privacy away from the crowds comes
to mind. If the big city lights attract you then Port
Renfrew is not your best choice. If however, nature
tugs your heartstrings then the famous West
Coast Trail, hiking,
kayaking,
superb
fishing and whale
watching are Canada's best on offer. Consider an
all day ecotour.
Soule
Creek Lodge offers yurts as accomodation for something
completely different. Elope on the beach in simpler
surroundings with magnificant views of the Olympic Peninsula.
It is recommended that
you have a reliable car suitable for gravel/shingle
roads so you can explore, a full tank of gas, outdoor
clothes and sleeping gear and an open mind to have an
adventure. If you have some guests for the day or overnight
consider hiring a bus from Wilson's
Transport to shuttle everyone to, from and around
Port Renfrew. There are numerous car rental options in Victoria.

are never easier to organise than when the bridal couple
quietly elopes. The quorum for eloping in British Columbia
is five participants. The Bride and Groom, a marriage
commissioner and two legal witnesses. These witnesses
can be dual purpose also functioning as both the entertainer
and photographer too. It does not get much more romantic
than having Alison as your own personal harpist for
your intimate wedding on the West Coast.
A small intimate wedding
with a few guests in a stunning region like Port Renfrew
BC works well too, as long as you pre-arrange the services
in Port Renfrew required for your guests to ensure their
availability. One does not need personal transportation
in the City of Victoria but in a rural setting such
as Port Renfrew your extra care will definitely be appreciated.
